North Star Games Donates 2,000 Games to Libraries
Donation Supports ALA’s National Gaming Day on Nov. 14.
Bethesda, MD (Nov. 4, 2009) – Although North Star Games is a small basement startup, they have donated 1,000 copies of Wits & Wagers (the most awarded trivia game in history) and 1,000 copies of Say Anything to libraries across the country in support of National Gaming Day on Nov. 14th. These games will help families turn off the television, gather around the table, and interact with each other in a manner that is both fun and educational.
National Gaming Day is an annual event organized by the American Library Association (ALA) to promote the use of board games in public libraries. 14,184 people participated in last year’s event; the ALA expects these numbers to double this year. North Star Games believes National Gaming Day is an opportunity to expand the gaming hobby. Donating 2,000 games will help expose the general public to the new and improved board games that are revolutionizing the board game market. These new board games are very different than the classic board games with which most people are familiar.
“The classic games were developed 50 – 75 years ago to meet the demands of life at that time,” says founder Dominic Crapuchettes. “Today’s lifestyles require games that play very quickly. New games like Wits & Wagers deliver fun, quality game play in just 20 minutes, making it perfect for today’s busy family schedule.”
