The definitive Doom 3 review - just ask me

The best thing I liked about Doom 3 is that I reviewed it for free.  I had been a huge fan of the Doom series.  I was not prepared to shell out $50 to play an updated version of the standard "clear the room, clear the room, oh look, something is behind you! GOTCHA! You die, try again."

In this age of effective AI, Doom 3 was moronic.  It's the same old Doom storyline but darker, on a different planet, and look ma, in the ages of IR goggles and all sorts of illumination that allows us to see shit, we have to put away our gun to use the flashlight.  Add to this the excessive requirements to actually play the game and you have a lag fest masquerading as a retail game.  When they give it away for free I will still not play it all the way through. 

So, I didn't like Doom 3 and do not recommend you part with any cash.  Let it fail so that their next effort will be worthwhile.
